About us
Built by pilots,
for pilots
AirAsia Virtual Group is a not-for-profit virtual airline that recreates the AirAsia Group's Southeast Asian operation inside Infinite Flight.

Who we are
A virtual airline, not a flying club
AAVG is an independent, volunteer-run virtual airline that operates on the Infinite Flight platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to AirAsia Berhad, Infinite Flight LLC or any other real-world airline or organisation — we simply admire the AirAsia network and rebuild it sector by sector inside the simulator.
Everything is documented: a published route database, a rank ladder tied to verified hours, a written handbook, and a named staff team you can contact. Joining is free, there are no minimum hours, and every applicant is reviewed by a person.
Our history
From a group flight to an ASEAN network
- The beginning
1.A shared frequency
A handful of AirAsia fans kept meeting on the Expert Server flying the same red A320s out of Kuala Lumpur. A one-off weekend group flight turned into a standing appointment.
- Getting organised
2.Weekly line ops
We built a dispatch process, agreed on the correct group callsigns and cruise levels, and started keeping a shared log of who flew what.
- Structure
3.Ranks and a handbook
The route database, the rank ladder from Cadet to Captain and the thirteen-chapter Pilot Handbook were written so every pilot flies the same way.
- Today
4.Five hubs, open roster
KUL, DMK, MNL, CGK and PNH, 2,690 scheduled sectors, weekly events and applications open year-round to pilots in every timezone.
Our goals
What we are working towards
Fly the full group network
Keep expanding the route database until every AirAsia Group sector that Infinite Flight supports is dispatchable under the correct carrier code.
Grow a steady active roster
Recruit continuously and keep pilots flying with events, tours and a low activity requirement rather than pressure.
Stay a well-run virtual airline
Maintain IFVARB standards, transparent staff structure and a documented procedure for every part of the operation.
Deepen realism
Refine cruise profiles, liveries, callsign usage and turnaround discipline so a line flight feels like the real thing.
Our operations
How the airline runs
The essentials of day-to-day flying. Full procedures are in the Pilot Handbook.
- Simulator
- Infinite Flight, Expert Server only for line flights and events.
- Dispatch
- Pilot-scheduled. Choose any sector from the route database within your rank limit.
- Callsigns
- AK, D7, FD, QZ, Z2 and KT — the callsign always matches the operating carrier of the flight number.
- Reporting
- A PIREP is filed after every sector and verified by staff before hours are credited.
- Activity
- One verified flight per calendar month keeps you on the active roster. Leave of absence available on request.
- Coordination
- Discord for dispatch, events and staff contact, plus our thread on the Infinite Flight Community.
What we stand for
Our values
Realism
Real callsigns, real routes, real procedures — as close to the airline as Infinite Flight allows.
Community first
No gatekeeping. Every pilot, from cadet to captain, is treated the same on the ramp.
Fly anywhere
Infinite Flight runs on your phone. So does our roster. Fly from your desk or from a beach.
Have fun
This is a hobby. We schedule fun events, tours and challenges alongside line ops.
